Refurbish or move?
Client: Roadways Container
Logistics Ltd
Project: To refurbish sectional
steel building with timber face.
Roadways rang us with a problem.
They had a 30-year-old sectional building, which was timber clad.
They had two options, the first was to move to new premises, the
second was to upgrade the building and we were asked to come up
with a solution to the second option.
We completed a successful trial
on our own specification, and work was started despite the weather.
All timber windows where refurbished and all the covers to the steel
structure were replaced with hardwood timber to match the windows.
All exterior damaged plywood
was replaced and all areas of damaged Canterbury spa were also replaced.
The timber was treated with Dulux Exterior Colour Coat, and all
ply and Canterbury spa areas were coated with Exchem Mining and
Construction 's Resicote WB1 Primer and WB2 single part flexible
coating.
This work comes with a five-year
guarantee.
The client - Roadways container
logistics Ltd is very pleased with the work, and is now looking
to do the next 4 phases over the next few years.
Still flying…
South East Coatings Ltd has
also just completed another project for British Airways. It was
a very tight program comprising of coatings to the steel roof and
main hangar floor at Gatwick Airport Hanger 5, incorporating floor
line marking and denoting of safety walkways. Overall it took BA
5 years to release the busy hanger and SEC completed their contract
in two weeks, ahead of schedule.
